St. Louis man killed in Howard County DWI crash Saturday morning

HOWARD COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

A St. Louis man was killed in a crash in Howard County Saturday morning.

According to Missouri State Highway Patrol, Moberly resident David Brown, 42, and passenger Joshua McNabb, 39, from St. Louis, were driving westbound on Missouri Highway 124 west of County Rd. 409 when his 2011 Honda CRV failed to navigate a corner and ran off the left side of the road.

The car then went into a ditch and overturned.

McNabb was pronounced dead on the scene by a Howard County coroner. Brown sustained moderate injuries and was taken to University Hospital in Columbia by Howard County EMS.

Brown has been charged with DWI involving the death of another, driving without a valid driver's license, and failing to maintain the right half of the roadway.

Brown was released for medical treatment.

Troopers report neither of the men were wearing a seatbelt. The car was also totaled.

This is Troop F's 5th fatality for December and the 49th of the year.
