One in custody for domestic assault after large police scene in north Columbia

Columbia Police officers took one man into custody after an alleged domestic assault incident in north Columbia.

A Columbia Police spokesperson tells ABC 17 News a man was taken into custody for allegedly assaulting a woman, resulting in minor injuries. No names are released at this time.

ABC 17 viewers shared video of the police on scene of James Dale Road in north Columbia. About seven patrol cars can be seen in the video, with officers focused on a house. Officers were on scene from about 7:30 to 8:15 p.m.

An ABC 17 reporter on scene saw a man come out of an apartment as officers told him to put his hands up and get on the ground. Officers then took him into custody.
