Two new motions filed in court case of Jefferson City woman accused of killing 4-year-old

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

A woman accused of murdering a Jefferson City child is asking to be released on bond.

The request is one of two motions filed by Quatavia Givens' attorneys this week.

She is accused of killing four-year-old Darnell Gray in 2018 and then trying to cover it up.

The second is asking the judge to allow givens to wear her own clothing without any visible restraints during her court appearances or while going to and from appearances.

Her lawyers claim it will help keep the jury impartial.

According to court documents, her trial is expected to start in September of next year.
