Boone County Fire respond to house fire in east Columbia

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Boone County Fire Protection District responded to a house fire on the 7400 block of east Southern Drive just after 10:45 tonight.

According to an ABC 17 News crew on scene there was no smoke coming out the house as of 11:33 p.m.

Crews could also see four to five fire trucks along with two to three ambulances.

Officials say found fire in an upstairs bedroom. The fire was quickly extinguished.

Firefighters report four people were in the house at the time. No one was seriously injured, however, one person had smoke exposure but refused treatment.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

ABC 17 News will have more information as it becomes available.
