Power outages reported around Mid-Missouri, more than 300 reported in Phelps County

A number of power outages were reported throughout Mid-Missouri on Friday as storms rolled through the area.

Phelps County had 347 outages reported after 2 p.m. for Gascosage Electric Cooperative customers. Chariton County had 118 outages reported for Farmers’ Electric Cooperative.

A large power outage left nearly 400 Boone Electric Cooperative members in the dark mid-morning Friday, but was restored by noon.

The cooperative reported 378 members without power in one large outage in northern Boone and Audrain counties at about 10 a.m. Nearly 30% of members in the Centralia zip code were without power, according to Boone Electric's outage map.

Storms with sometimes strong winds were continuing to roll through Mid-Missouri mid-morning Friday. The ABC 17 Stormtrack Weather Team expected another round of possibly strong storms Friday afternoon.

Those storms could pack strong winds, hail and heavy rain.
