Tracking a stormy weekend ahead

TODAY: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday are ABC 17 Stormtrack Weather Alert Days. Get the latest detail here. Friday brings a chance for scattered storms through the morning, and some isolated evening storm chances. Our best chance at severe weather will be with what can develop later this evening, but a chance for isolated severe exists with widespread storms early today. Temperatures reach into the 70s.

TONIGHT: After storm chances for some in the north and west this evening, and late night storms possible near Rolla, we will dry out overnight. Temperatures fall into the 60s.

EXTENDED: Saturday is mostly dry and warm, with a high in the 80s. Storms may fire in the far north by the evening, but most of us will likely miss out, save for an isolated storm or two. Better storm chances arrive late Saturday night, and will bring a chance for all types of severe weather. Sunday morning, these storms are still ongoing, but eventually wind down by midday. Another development of storms, possibly severe, may materialize along a cold front pushing from west to east through the afternoon and evening. With more rain through the day, we expect to be cooler, but still in the 70s. Next week will be mild to warm, and generally quieter, especially Monday, but by Tuesday we are tracking more chances for rain that grow into Wednesday.
