Julia Crenshaw crowned NFCA third-team All-American

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Julia Crenshaw has cemented her spot among Mizzou Softball's best.

The O'Fallon native was named a third-team All-American by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) on Wednesday, becoming the 27th different player in program history to earn All-American status. Crenshaw's newest accolade also raises the program's mark to 32 total All-American honors.

The Fort Zumwalt West graduate joins former Mizzou outfielder Alex Honnold as the program's two most recent All-Americans. Honnold was tabbed an NFCA second-team All-American in 2023.

Crenshaw, who has been recognized as a first-team All-SEC and an NFCA first-team All-Region selection this season, enjoyed a career-best campaign to end her collegiate career. She set new career-highs in batting average (.361), runs scored (48), hits (56), doubles (14), home runs (14), walks (37), on-base percentage (.492) and slugging percentage (.723). Crenshaw also led the team in six of those eight categories, finishing behind only Stefania Abruscato for the team-lead in doubles and Madison Walker for the team-high in home runs.

However, Crenshaw made as much of a difference at the plate as she did behind it. Mizzou's starting catcher caught nine runners stealing this season, which was the highest total in the SEC, and recorded a .983 fielding percentage.

Crenshaw spent all four seasons of her collegiate career with the Tigers, recording 191 appearances (180 starts), 110 runs scored, 141 hits, 36 doubles, 27 home runs, 107 RBI's, 24 stolen bases and a .272 batting average.
