Mizzou catcher earns First-Team All-SEC selection
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
Following her final season in the black and gold, Mizzou catcher Julia Crenshaw earned the first postseason honor of her career, on Friday, when the Southeastern Conference announced that she has been named to the 2025 First-Team All-SEC.
The O'Fallon, Missouri native had quite a final campaign in Columbia, as she was Ms. Consistency at the dish. She paced the Tigers during SEC play, batting .343 with 23 hits, 16 runs, five doubles, seven home runs (sixth in the SEC) and 12 RBI. Crenshaw also slugged .731, which ranked fourth in the conference and topped the category amongst catchers. Her on-base percentage of .457 with 49 total bases also ranked ninth in league action.
She was also a force to be reckoned with, defensively, for head coach Larissa Anderson's team. Crenshaw caught five runners stealing in conference action in 2025, which tied for third in the Southeastern Conference. Crenshaw caught a total of nine runners stealing throughout the entire season.
Overall, though both non-conference and conference play, Crenshaw hit a team-high and career-best .361 with 48 runs, 56 hits, 14 doubles, 14 home runs, 32 RBI, 37 walks (seven in Mizzou single-season history and 26 stolen bases (fifth in the SEC). She capped off the numbers with five leadoff home runs in her final season, which is tied for second in all of Division I softball.
Crenshaw ended her collegiate career in the first round of the SEC Tournament, on Tuesday. She will go down as one of the best catchers to do it, finishing with 180 starts with 191 games. Through her career, she ended up with a .272 batting average, 518 at-bats, 110 runs, 141 hits, 36 doubles, 27 home runs, 107 RBIs and 24 stolen bases.
The graduating senior has earned conference honors before, being named to the SEC Spring Academic Honor Roll in both 2023 and 2024, while also earning First-Year Academic SEC Honor Roll in the 2021-22 school year. However, this honor is the first one given for her play on the field.
In total, the All-SEC teams are made up of 21 student-athletes on First-Team, 22 on the Second-Team and a 10-member All-Defensive team.
The Tigers ended the year 25-31 overall and 6-18 in SEC play. But, Coach Anderson has continually hammered home that her group of seniors, especially Crenshaw, will leave a larger legacy than this season. Crenshaw has been a part of two NCAA Regional runs in 2022 and 2023, while playing a major role in MU's NCAA Super Regional run in 2024.
