Julia Crenshaw named NFCA First Team All-Region selection
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
Julia Crenshaw is adding another honor to her postseason award haul.
Mizzou's starting catcher has earned NFCA First Team Midwest All-Region honors, marking the first NFCA postseason accolade of her career. Crenshaw was also recently named a first-team All-SEC selection.
She was one of 380 student-athletes to receive an NFCA All-Region honor this season.
Crenshaw set new career-bests in multiple categories during her senior season, including runs scored (48), hits (56), doubles (14), home runs (14), batting average (.361) and slugging percentage (.723). She also led the team in four of those categories this season: runs scored, hits, batting average and slugging percentage.
However, Crenshaw's impact on the program wasn't just felt at the plate. Along with incredible leadership, she was also a high-caliber defender, catching an SEC-best nine runners stealing this season.
The O'Fallon native spent all four seasons of her career with the Tigers. Over the course of her career, Crenshaw played in 191 games and batted .272 with 141 hits, 36 doubles, 27 home runs and 107 RBI's.
