Jayden Jernigan declares for NFL Draft

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Defensive lineman Jayden Jernigan is taking his first steps toward starting an NFL career. Jernigan announced on social media on Friday evening that he will declare for the upcoming NFL Draft.

The Texas native played two seasons with Mizzou after transferring from Oklahoma State after the 2021 season. In his two seasons with the Tigers, Jernigan played in 26 games, posting 32 total tackles, 2.5 sacks and a defensive touchdown.

Jernigan is now the eighth Mizzou Tiger to declare for the 2024 NFL Draft. He joins Ennis Rakestraw Jr., Darius Robinson, Jaylon Carlies, Kris Abrams-Draine, Nyles Gaddy and Realus George Jr. as the Tigers on the defensive side of the ball who are starting their NFL journeys. Cody Schrader is currently the only player on offense to make an NFL Draft declaration.
