Tolton softball captures second state championship in four seasons

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Tolton softball team secured its second-ever state championship under head coach Taylor Bartlett, on Friday, with a 2-0 win over Belton.

The state title win is the second one this program has seen in just five seasons.

Bartlett's team didn't need too much offense to get the trophy win. In fact, all it took was a couple of hits, as Trailblazer standout Lexi Hoffman knocked the eventual game-winning two-RBI single in the sixth inning.

In the circle, pitcher Bella Trim was lights out for the second-straight day. The junior tossed a complete-game shutout with 12 strikeouts in the championship.
