Collier continues to transform Capital City’s football program in year three
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)
In just two season at Capital City, Joe Collier has taken the Cavaliers from a one win season to seven wins last year, but he says there's still work do to ahead of year three.
"I think we found our way and that's when we came from that one win season to seven win season, it's just a process of making sure we're doing things the correct way," Collier said. "Success doesn't happen all the time, but a lot of the times when you do things the right way, together, good things happen."

The Cavaliers got to put their training into some scrimmage action two weeks ago at Hickman High School. Collier says he was impressed with some of the things his team brought to the field.
"The main thing is, this summer we're trying to make sure we know where we're going. Fundamentals wise, technique wise, and we were pretty physical, so those three things for us is big at this stage of the summer."
For the past few seasons, Capital City has played their home games across town at Jefferson City High School, but this upcoming season will be the first that their field will at their school.
"It's a sense of ownership," Collier says. "We don't have to travel, we don't have to feel like we're visitors every game. It's a place where we kind of settle in and make sure that you know we can we can kind of be able to just chill out for a game."
Capital City will kick off the season on Aug. 25 at Warrensburg at 7 p.m.
