Chiefs make two defensive selections in the first round of NFL Draft

Kansas City started the night by trading up for its first pick in the NFL Draft. The Chiefs gave up three picks, including one in the first round, to select Washington cornerback Trent McDuffie with the 21st overall pick.

McDuffie started in 11 games for the Huskies and picked up 35 tackles, one sack, and six passes defended.

Kansas City sent picks 29, 94, and 121 to the New England Patriots in return.

With the 30th overall pick, general manager Brett Veach and company selected Purdue defensive end George Karlaftis, who was a first team All-Big 10 selection in 2021.
