One lane of Missouri Boulevard in Jefferson City to close for several weeks
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)
One lane of Missouri Boulevard in Jefferson City will closed for the next several weeks as work on “pedestrian facilities” takes place, according to a press release from the Missouri Department of Transportation.
Construction crews are improving curb ramps, replacing sidewalks and upgrading signals, the release states. The release did not state which day the closure would begin, but stated all lanes would be open by mid-May.
The lane will be closed during daytime hours Monday-Friday, the release states.
According to the release, the work is part of a multi-county project to bring pedestrian facilities in 10 Mid-Missouri communities into compliance with the current Americans with Disabilities Act standards.
The Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission awarded a $1,230,276.54 contract to Aplex, Inc. for this work, which is set to be completed by Dec. 1, the release says. The project is passed the halfway point, according to the release.
