COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
A Columbia man was charged with a felony in a Feb. 6 crash that shut down an Ashland overpass near Highway 63 for about an hour.
Tanner Stallings, 21, was charged with felony driving while intoxicated and two misdemeanors: Reckless driving and not having insurance. Stallings posted a $1,500 bond, a Feb. 10 court filing indicates. An initial court appearance is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 12 at the Boone County Courthouse.
The probable cause statement says that Stallings was recklessly driving his Chrysler through a roundabout on East Broadway. The statement says Stallings was “drifting” around the roundabout, spinning the tires and crossed the centerline of the road while going through over the overpass.
His vehicle hit another vehicle that was driven by a woman who is 34-weeks pregnant, the statements. She had abdominal and hand pains and was brought to Boone Hospital with minor injuries, court documents say.
Ashland police wrote that Stallings appeared to be intoxicated. He consented to a breath test and his blood alcohol level was .134, the statement says.
