St. Louis man suffers serious injuries in Phelps County crash

PHELPS COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

A 29-year-old St. Louis man suffered serious injuries in a single-vehicle crash early Sunday on Highway 8 in Phelps, about four miles south of St. James, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report.

The crash occurred as a 2005 Ford Focus was heading southbound on Highway 8, the report states. The Ford was going too fast for conditions, went off the left side of the road and overturned, the report states. The driver, Mark Howe, was ejected from the vehicle, the report states.

He was brought to Phelps Health Hospital in Rolla by ambulance.

The report states that he was wearing a seatbelt and the Ford was totaled.
