Semi-truck involved in crash on I-70 as storms hit Mid-Missouri

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

First responders were on the scene Wednesday after two tractor-trailers were involved in a crash in the westbound lanes of Interstate 70, just west of North Rangeline Road.

Columbia firefighters, as well as an ambulance and law enforcement were on the scene. Responders closed driving lane while they worked. The crash occurred before 7 p.m.

One semi appeared to have its front end smashed in, and the windshield was broken open.

A storm that included lightning, hail and rain went through the area after 6 p.m. The ABC 17 News Stormtrack Weather Team says that a strong storm is also possible sometime after 9 p.m.
