OSHA investigating Missouri River bridge construction site accident
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
The Occupational Health and Safety Administration is investigating a Missouri River bridge construction worker's fall into the river on Tuesday.
A spokeswoman for Lunda Team, the contractor on the project, said Tuesday that a worker suffered minor injuries in a fall caused by an unspecified equipment failure. She said she did not know how far the worker fell or the details of the worker's injuries.
A U.S. Department of Labor spokesman said Thursday that OSHA is investigating the accident but no other information would be released until the investigation is done. He said OSHA has six months to complete that investigation.
The $240 million bridge replacement project on Interstate 70 is expected to be finished by December 2024.
