Jefferson City woman ejected from boat after crash, driver leaves the scene

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Jefferson City woman was seriously hurt in a boat crash at the Lake of the Ozarks Saturday night.

The 43-year-old woman was a passenger in the boat being driver by a 23-year-old Jefferson City man. According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, the boat struck a shallow spot in the Osage River arm upstream from the St. Thomas access around 6:15 p.m.

The woman was ejected and the driver rode off from the scene, the report says. The driver was not hurt and it's unclear if they were arrested.
