Man drowns in Truman Lake

Sedalia man died this Saturday morning after drowning in Truman Lake.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the 36-year-old was swimming in the Shawnee Bend Recreation Area Beach in Benton County at around 8:20 a.m. when he went under the water and did not come back up.

The man's body was recovered by the water patrol, and he was pronounced dead on scene. Next of kin have been notified.
