Power outages across Missouri after strong wind, storms sweep through

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Thousands lost power Saturday afternoon after strong storms downed power lines.

In Columbia, over 3,000 were reported to be without power. Five to six crews were working on restoring lost power at last check. Water supply was also affected for some in Columbia. No more outages were reported by Sunday afternoon.

According to the Ameren outage map, over 90,000 Ameren customers across the state lost power. As of Sunday afternoon, that number is down to just over 23,000.

The Fulton Diagnostic and Reception Center also lost power after the storm. The city tells ABC 17 it's working to restore power.

Boone County Joint Communications reported power lines down across the county. Many calls were going on at once from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
