COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Thousands of Mid-Missouri utility customers were experiencing power outages for the second time this week as storms rolled in once again Friday.

A number of the outages for Boone Electric customers were reported in neighborhoods near Interstate 70 east of Highway 63, as well as just outside the city to the north and south.

A Boone Electric spokesman told ABC 17 News that crews are already dispatched, with more on the way. Outages occurred as a result of the wind and some trees falling on lines. There is no estimated time yet for when all the outages will be resolved.

Howard County had 806 customers without power at its peak, while Cooper County had 602. Power was completely restored by 9:30 p.m. for Howard County, and Cooper County's was down to 68 at the same time.
