Power outages reported in Boone, Callaway counties following round of storms

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A number of electricity customers in Mid-Missouri reported power outages after storms rolled through the area Wednesday evening.

Callaway Electric online records showed 1,440 customers without power at its peak. The areas hit the hardest for Callaway Electric includes Carrington with 783 customers without power, Tebbetts with 283 and Millersburg with 232. The total outages came down to 1,220 by 10:50 p.m.

Ameren Missouri reported on its outage map that 494 customers in Callaway County were without power at its peak. There were 35 customers without power at 9:54 p.m.

That outage was reported outside of New Bloomfield and began at 7:12 p.m., an Ameren spokesman told ABC 17 News in an email.

There were 961 Boone Electric customers without power with 28 outages reported at its peak. That total came down to 26 customers affected on 13 outages at 10:47 p.m.

The outage map showed crews are assigned to several areas, including the Stephens area, Prathersville, Harrisburg. There are other outages reported near the Breckenridge area, as well as neighborhoods surrounding Interstate 70 near North Rangeline Road.

ABC 17 News reached out to Boone Electric.

One outage was reported City of Columbia customers, with 37 customers affected. The outage was at Parkade Boulevard -- north of Interstate 70. The outage was resolved before 9:50 p.m.
