COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The 13th Circuit Court -- which includes Boone and Callaway counties -- has chosen to reduce the court costs and fees associated with juvenile cases, according to a press release from the Mid-Missouri Civil Liberties Association.

Boone County was imposing one of the highest juvenile court costs and fees in Missouri, according to the release. The changes will begin Dec. 1.

The court will no longer be assessing the court reporter fee of $15, clerk fee of $45, basic civil legal services fee of $8 or inmate security Fee of $2, a total reduction of $70 in fees in every juvenile court case.
