Crash interrupts traffic Thursday in Jefferson City

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

Traffic was interrupted on Highway 50 over Lafayette Street after a crash Thursday in Jefferson City.

The crash happened at about 3:45 p.m. The pileup involved four vehicles and happened when an F-350 truck hit the back of another truck that was stopped in traffic, causing a chain reaction, according to a Jefferson City Police Department news release.

Three people had moderate injuries, police say. Two were treated at the scene and another was taken by ambulance to a hospital.

Two vehicles were towed from the scene. Traffic was down to one lane for about 30 minutes, police say.
