JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Route D bridge over Highway 50 in Jefferson City reopened Thursday, according to a press release from the Missouri Department of Transportation.

The bridge closed on Monday and was initially expected to reopen Monday, Oct. 23. According to the release, workers removed and replaced compression seals, repaired concrete, and applied a protective coating in spots.

The work was announced after the Truman Boulevard overpass was reopened following a rehabilitation project.

The Thursday press release stated more work will be completed on both overpasses, but traffic is not expected to be impacted.
