Student faces discipline after threat at Capital City High School

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Capital City High School student will be subject to "full disciplinary actions" from school administrators after making a threat on social media, according to an email sent to families Tuesday.

The email from Capital City Principal Ben Meldrum said police received a report of a student posing as a former student who posted threats directed at the school on social media. The student was not in school Tuesday, Meldrum wrote.

Meldrum said threats will not be tolerated at the school and students who make them will be suspended and referred for expulsion and criminal charges.

A Jefferson City School District spokeswoman said police referred the student to juvenile authorities.

This is homecoming week at Capital City High School. The spokeswoman said all homecoming week activities are continuing as planned.

School officials last month said a student was disciplined after making threats on social media.
