JEFFERSON CITY, MO. (KMIZ)

A U.S. district judge sentenced a Jefferson City man Wednesday to federal prison for receiving child porn over the internet.

Dana Paul Cline, 54, was sentenced to 13 years in prison without parole and ordered to pay a total of $31,000 to several of his victims.

Cline pleaded guilty in July 2020 to one count of receiving child pornography. The court later denied Cline’s motion to withdraw his guilty plea.

The investigation began in late May 2018, when a Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper downloaded child pornography from Cline’s computer during an investigation into a peer-to-peer file-sharing network. One month later, law enforcement found videos and images of child pornography during a search of Cline's computer.

According to court documents, Cline has a history of domestic violence, substance abuse, and a previous investigation of possession of child pornography.
