Man and woman die in two-vehicle car crash Saturday evening
GASCONADE COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)
A Morrison man and woman were killed in a car crash involving two vehicles Saturday evening in Gasconade County.
An online crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol states that Gary Rost, 59 was driving West on Route ZZ in his car with Julia Rost, 61 just before six o'clock. The crash occurred when Rost did not stop at a stop sign---traveled through the intersection--- and hit another car.
The car then flipped over and ended up in the Southbound lane of the highway.
Both people were pronounced dead on scene.
The other car was driven by Shawn Browning, 33 and had an eight-year-old boy, as well as Emalee Knapp, 19. Following the crash, the car went off the right side of the road and ended up in a ditch.
Knapp and the juvenile were taken to Mercy Hospital with moderate injuries.
Browning was not injured in the crash.
Troop F reports that this is its second and third fatal crashes September and the 34th and 35th for the year.
Neither person killed in the crash were wearing seatbelts.
