Fulton Public School District set to discuss school resource officer agreement Wednesday

FULTON, Mo. (KMIZ)

Fulton Public School District will hold a school board meeting Wednesday night to discuss its agreement to add school resource officers.

The Fulton Public School District and the City of Fulton, along with the Fulton Police Department has come to an agreement to have officers provide security at school campuses.

The district agrees to provide the city 65% of the base salary and benefits of the assigned officer. That percentage will be just over $27,000 payable in five monthly installments.

In return, the City of Fulton agreed to fund the cost of vacation, sick leave, overtime, equipment, patrol cars and training.

School resource officers will be in Fulton schools starting Jan. 6 and will go til the end of the 2024-2025 academic school year.
