Police believed to have found Mengqi Ji’s body: a timeline of her disappearance
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
The Columbia Police Department announced Thursday it believes remains found at Rock Bridge State Park belong to Mengqi Ji.
CPD said personal property fit the description of what Ji was last seen in, with officers also locating bank, credit card documents along with a driver's license belonging to Ji.
Joseph Elledge, Ji's husband, is being held in the Boone County Jail without bond for murder charges relating to Ji's disappearance.
Elledge's attorneys did not respond to requests for comment.
The development adds to a years-long timeline since Ji went missing in October 2019.

Police are waiting for the remains found Thursday to go through DNA testing and/or confirmation with dental records to verify the identity.
