MU Health Care cutting five leadership positions

KMIZ

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

University of Missouri Health Care will eliminate five positions in hospital leadership as part of a restructuring, a hospital spokesman said Monday.

MU Health Care spokesman Eric Maze said the move is meant to "better support patients and the future health care needs of Missourians."

He did not say which positions are being eliminated.

“While MU Health Care is in a strong position, we believe we can do a better job of preparing for the future by aligning resources and improving collaboration across the organization to create more streamlined services,” Nim Chinniah, vice chancellor for health affairs and interim CEO, said in a prepared statement. “We believe this restructuring will better position us to save and improve more lives every day.”

UM System leadership told the board of curators last month about a five-year plan to improve MU Health Care's financial standing.

MU Health Care recently hired a new top officer. Ric Ransom will begin his time as CEO on May 1 and report to Chinniah.
