Lincoln University names interim president
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)
The Lincoln University of Board of Curators has selected an interim president.
John B. Moseley will head the university on an interim basis, according to a news release.
He will replace current President Jerald Woolfolk on Saturday.
Woolfolk announced last weekend her plans to leave Lincoln University at the end of this school year. In a statement provided to ABC 17 News, Woolfolk cited a desire to be closer to her family.
Woolfolk joined the school in June 2018.
Moseley has been Lincoln's athletic director since 2016. He has also been the head men's basketball coach since 2014.
"I am honored to serve in this position and continue the relationships we have with our alumni around the world," Moseley said. "Lincoln University is an important part of our community and a better Lincoln means a better Jefferson City."
Moseley has 18 years of experience in higher education. Twelve of those years have been spent with historically black colleges and universities such as Lincoln.
