JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

The president of Lincoln University has announced she will be leaving at the 2020-2021 school year concludes.

President Jerald Woolfolk is the 20th president of the university, and has been serving since June 2018.

In a statement, Woolfolk said she has been away from her family for too long, and it's time to return closer to home.

The Board of Curators will be conducting a nationwide search for a new president, and will name a president in the interim. The Presidential Transition Committee has a closed meeting on Monday.
