Man accused of killing brother after argument in Mexico

MEXICO, Mo. (KMIZ)

One man was killed after a report of a shooting at a house in Mexico on Sunday night.

According to a press release Mexico Public Safety Department, officers responded to the 700 block of East Promenade Street for a report of a disturbance with someone being shot around 6:17 p.m. on Sunday.

The release states officers found several people inside the home were involved in an argument when Stephen L Welch, 30, allegedly shot and killed his brother, Christopher S Welch, 36.

Police said Stephen Welch stayed on the scene and was detained by officers before being taken to the Aurdrain County Sheriff's Office.

Formal charges have not yet been filed, according to the release and online court records.
