Columbia woman charged after woman shot on Friday

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

At least one woman has been charged following a shooting on Friday in northeast Columbia.

The Boone County Prosecutor's office has charged Najah McHenry with a felony count of first-degree assault.

According to court documents, she was with a group of women who attacked the victim outside of a home on Elm Grove Drive.

Police found a spent shell casing, 20 yards away from where the victim was shot.

Police say the victim told officers she went to the home on Friday afternoon to sell some clothes.

The victim was shot in her leg and also had swelling on the head from the assault.

During the investigation, police found phone records of the group planning to assault the victim.

No other arrests have been made.

McHenry has a $100,000 cash/surety bond.

McHenry has an April 27 confined docket hearing scheduled and a preliminary hearing set for May 20.
