Woman arrested in connection with Friday shooting in Columbia

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Columbia woman was arrested after a shooting sent another woman to the hospital on Friday afternoon.

According to a release from the Columbia Police Department, officers arrested 23 year-old Najah McHenry on charges of first degree assault.

Police say McHenry is a suspect because of her involvement in a reported shots fired incident, which happened in the 3200 block of Elm Grove Drive on Friday around 3 p.m.

The 20-year-old female victim who was transported to local hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.

McHenry is currently in custody the Boone County Jail.

It's unclear if there are any other suspects.

Police say the investigation continuing and being handled by the Department’s Criminal Investigation Division. More details could become available at a later time/
