Shooting and burglary reported at Leeway Drive apartment building
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
Columbia police responded to a shooting and burglary at a Leeway Drive apartment building Sunday night.
Officers at the scene said a bullet went through the floor of a second-story apartment and into the unit below.
A release from the police department said a resident living in the apartment below reported being grazed on the leg by a bullet. Police received the report around 9:10 p.m.
The resident on the top floor told police he left for a short period of time to get groceries and when he came back items worth more than $700 had been stolen.
Police say the resident who was grazed by the bullet did not need medical attention and that no others were hurt.
Officers did not find any evidence of forced entry into the apartment and that no suspect information is available, the release said.
