Columbia woman charged after alleged assault with a machete

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Boone County prosecutor has charged a woman after an alleged assault with a machete on Wednesday.

Cortney Tanner, 32, is charged with first-degree assault, unlawful use of a weapon and armed criminal action.

Court documents reveal that Tanner and the victim had an argument over some property when Tanner allegedly showed a machete and him twice with it.

Tanner has a $25,000 bond and is currently in the Boone County jail.

Tanner had her initial arraignment on Thursday.
