A police incident report shows 26 law enforcement officers responded to a scene on Friday that led to an officer-involved shooting.
The Jefferson City Police Department said on Monday that Julie Knehans, 53, of Jefferson City, was killed in the shooting. Police responded to a burglary in progress in the 200 block of Gordon Street, where they allegedly found Knehans armed.

An incident report from police states a caller reported a person using a crow bar to break into a home at 4:01 p.m. The caller's husband saw a person go through the back of a duplex at the intersection of East High Street and Gordon Street and break in through the sliding door, the report says.
The suspect was described as someone wearing a dark t-shirt, grey pants and carrying a backpack, the report says. The caller then called an unnamed person from High Street at 4:08 p.m.
Shots were fired at 4:11 p.m. Officers then broke through the front door of the duplex two minutes later.
Units from the Cole County Sheriff's Office also helped get children from East Elementary School--located near the scene-- back into the building, according to the report. All students who needed to be walked home were escorted, and other students returned back to the playground at 4:39 p.m., according to the report.
The duplex was deemed secure at 11:43 p.m.
The officers who are involved in the shooting have been placed on administrative leave and the Missouri State Highway Patrol is investigating the shooting, JCPD said on Monday. JCPD will also conduct an internal administrative review.
