MSHP: Semi-truck driver arrested after Montgomery County crash

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A semi-truck driver was arrested by the Missouri State Highway Patrol Tuesday morning after a crash on Interstate 70 in Montgomery County.

MSHP Troop F shared on X, that troopers responded to the crash involving a semi-truck loaded with 42,000 pounds of paint at the 166 mile marker of eastbound I-70.

Traffic was reduced to one lane around 2 a.m. As of 9:30 a.m., the scene was not clear after paint spilled onto the road.

The driver was not hurt, but was arrested on suspicion of DWI, according to the Highway Patrol.

The MoDOT Traveler Map says traffic was expected to be affected for about eight hours.

A MoDOT spokesperson said as of 9:20 a.m., no structure damage was reported.
