Boonville student arrested, another brought to hospital following assault in school parking lot

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Boonville High School student was arrested after they allegedly assaulted another student in the school’s parking lot, Boonville police wrote in a Tuesday afternoon social media.

Police wrote that that they were called at 3 p.m. to help the school’s resource officer respond to an assault. Two students were allegedly fighting and one student was cut in their abdomen and was brought to a hospital in Columbia by ambulance, the post says.

The other student was arrested and brought to the Cooper County Jail, the post says.

Police did not say whether a weapon was involved or how the student was cut.

Police say there is no threat to the community.
