A man with Florida ties was charged with three felonies Sunday after allegedly shooting another man in the face at a south Columbia restaurant.

Alexis A. Gonzalez, 36, whose driver's license says he's from Orlando, was charged after the shooting late Saturday at Buffalo Wild Wings with three felonies: first-degree assault, armed criminal action and illegal gun use.

Gonzalez is accused of shooting another patron at Buffalo Wild Wings after a server refused him alcohol because he was too drunk, according to a probable cause statement. Gonzalez allegedly left the restaurant without paying. Another patron followed Gonzalez and his girlfriend out the door while recording on a cellphone, the statement says.

A fight broke out in the parking lot but because of redaction in the statement ABC 17 News was unable to determine who Gonzalez and his girlfriend were fighting.

Gonzalez can be seen on security video going back in the restaurant and shooting a man, documents say.

Police said the man suffered serious injuries and was rushed to a hospital.

According to court documents, Gonzalez is charged with felony first degree assault, felony of armed criminal action, and felony of unlawful use of a weapon. Gonzalez is held with no bond.

Gonzalez's appeared at his first court hearing at 1:00 p.m. Aug. 19. virtually in a jail jumpsuit.

During the hearing, listening to Judge Stephanie Morrell, pushed back, arguing that he had no prior charges.

"This is my first time being in jail," Gonzalez said.

Gonzalez also included positive interactions he has with the police.

"I was very cooperative with the officers,” Gonzalez said.

Following this, Morrell set a bond hearing for 1 p.m. on Aug. 22.

Gonzalez's preliminary hearing is set for 9 a.m. Sept. 17.

The Buffalo Wild Wings remains closed. According to their spokesman, Jack D'Amato, they will plan opening on a day by day basis.
