Sentencing hearing set for woman accused in ARC fight
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
A sentencing hearing for a Columbia woman who was accused in a June fight at the Activity and Recreation Center is set for 2:30 p.m. Monday, March 11.
Lakeisha R. Thomas, 37, pleaded guilty last week to second-degree assault. She was initially charged with second-degree assault, third-degree assault, unlawful use of a weapon and armed criminal action, according to previous reporting.
Thomas allegedly told police that she grabbed her gun from outside the building and went back inside the ARC where people were still fighting when she hit someone with a gun, according to a probable cause statement. The action led to a boy's teeth being knocked out, according to the statement.
Four people in total were arrested the day of the fight, according to previous reporting.
Another person charged in relation to the fight, Kameron Mearidy, 19, has a hearing set for 1:30 p.m. Friday. He is currently listed on the Boone County Jail roster.
