Texas man jailed on 2004 Boone County sexual assault charge

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Texas man was in the Boone County Jail on Friday on accusations of sexual assault in 2004.

Brendan N. Woodard, 43, was charged in August with forcible sodomy with a crime that happened at an undisclosed address in Boone County in May 2004.

A rape kit was gathered at the time of the crime. The DNA results were uploaded in 2022 and returned a match to Woodard, according to a probable cause statement.

Woodard was living in Columbia at the time of the assault but now lives in the Austin area.

He remained in jail Friday on a $25,000 bond. A hearing was set for Friday afternoon.
