Charges dismissed for man accused in July Auxvasse shooting
FULTON, Mo. (KMIZ)
Charges for a Callaway County man who was accused in an Auxvasse shooting in July have been dismissed, according to an email from Callaway County prosecutor Benjamin Miller.
Damin Davis, 34, was charged with first-degree assault, armed-criminal action, unlawful gun possession, endangering the welfare of a child and fourth-degree domestic assault.
He is still listed on the Callaway County Jail’s inmate roster. Davis pleaded guilty on Nov. 8 to second-degree property damage, was sentenced to 90 days in jail and was given credit for time served.
A shooting allegedly occurred on East Harrison Street in Auxvasse at about 12:55 p.m. July 2, according to the Sheriff's Office.
Law enforcement searched around Callaway County July 2-3. Law enforcement claimed Davis fled from the scene with his 10-year-old son in a black car. The car was later found abandoned in the Stephens area, according to the sheriff. The child was found safe on July 2, according to previous reporting.
Davis was also charged in Boone County in May with unlawful gun possession and two counts of third-degree domestic assault. The next court date for those charges have not been set.
