Kansas man sentenced 30 years for child porn charge involving Boone County victims

A Lawrence, Kansas, man has been sentenced in federal court on Friday for soliciting child pornography from two Boone County children, according to a press release from the Department of Justice.

Kyle G. Gibler, 30, was sentenced to 30 years in federal prison without parole and 10 years of supervised release. Gibler will be required to register as a sex offender, the release states.

According to the release, Gibler pleaded guilty on Aug. 25, 2022, to attempting to produce child pornography. Gibler received pornographic photographs of two victims, who were 11 and 2 years old, according to the release. Gibler had allegedly communicated with the 11 year old on a dating website. The 11-year-old allegedly lied about her age to get on the website, but had informed Gibler of her real age, according to the release.

Gibler had allegedly stated he was an 18-year-old man from Florida. Law enforcement had allegedly found thousands of files containing child pornography different devices owned by Gibler, according to the release. The release states there were at least six different female victims between January 2015-April 2017.
