Man charged after allegedly stealing car from State Technical College

A man was charged and arrested after allegedly stealing a 2021 Toyota Corrolla on Thursday from State Technical College of Missouri.

Alex M Stieffermann, 33, was charged with second-degree burglary and first-degree tampering with a motor vehicle. He was arrested at 4 p.m. Friday and is being held without bond at the Osage County Jail, according to jail records.

According to the probable cause statement, Stieffermann entered the Vehicle and Power Center after shortly after midnight on Thursday and allegedly drove off with a red 2021 Toyota Corrolla at 2:16 a.m. Surveillance video allegedly showed the car driving off.

No other people were seen entering the building around that time, according to court documents.

Stieffermann has additional charges for first-degree tampering with a motor vehicle, second-degree burglary and first-degree property damage from June 22. He was also charged on June 1 with stealing a motor vehicle and misdemeanor stealing for an alleged incident on May 27.  A case review is scheduled for both cases at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 17.
