Jefferson City couple found guilty of child abuse, child endangerment
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)
A Jefferson City couple was found guilty of child abuse and child endangerment Tuesday.
Daniel and Christina Dubey were tried by the court and found guilty of three counts of child abuse and two counts of first-degree endangering the welfare of a child. A sentencing hearing is set for 3 p.m. Monday, July 17 at the Cole County Courthouse. They will both be held at the Cole County Jail.
The couple was accused of abusing at least two children at their residence in 2018, according to previous reporting. Two girls were found running away from the residence and were heading to Texas. They were found soaked and not wearing shoes. The children were trying to go to Texas to see one of their parents, according to the report.
The children allegedly told police they were worried about being beaten or killed if they went back to the Dubey residence, according to the report.
