CLARK, Mo. (KMIZ)
A Clark, Missouri, man has been charged with multiple felonies after allegedly accidentally shooting a woman on his front porch.
William Nowlin, 36, is charged with second-degree domestic assault, unlawful possession of a gun and possession of a controlled substance. He is being held at the Randolph County Jail on a $25,000 bond. An arraignment is set for 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Randolph County Courthouse.
The Randolph County Sheriff’s Office was called by Boone Hospital staff on Tuesday about a female patient with a gunshot wound to her lower leg, according to a press release sent to ABC 17 News.
Deputies learned the woman was in a relationship with Nowlin and was shot Monday while he was allegedly handling the gun. The Sheriff’s Office said in the release that the shooting was likely accidental and that Nowlin is a convicted felon who is not allowed to own a gun.
A search warrant was executed at Nowlin’s residence and law enforcement allegedly found ammunition, methamphetamine and other drug paraphernalia, according to the release. Â
